Leonard E. Hall, 87, Firefighter, Plumber

PLAISTOW, N.H.–Leonard E. Hall, 87, passed away suddenly at his home on Oct. 14. He was the husband of the late Isabelle A. (Noon) Hall.

Born in Merrimacport on Aug.1, 1927, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Bernice B. (Slimas) Hall.

Hall was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1945. During World War III  he served as a member of U.S. Marine Corps before being honorably discharged as a PFC in 1946. Hall first worked in Haverhill as a member of the Haverhill Fire Department. He started his career in plumbing working for Youngblood Plumbing where he worked for seven years. He then began his own business, Hall & Son Plumbing & Heating, which he continued for 12 years.

Hall is survived by his son, Leonard A. “Lenny” Hall and wife Joan of Atkinson; daughter, Nancy E. Diamond and husband Marvin of Kissimmee, Fla.; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, Edward Hall of Mexico; sister, Beverly LaPrell of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Paula Hall of Salem, NH. He was the father of the late Austin Felker, Norman E. Felker, Carl W. Hall, and brother of the late Constance Hall.

At Hall’s request the arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill will be private. Interment at Linwood Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
