About 150 people turned out Wednesday night for one of the first public tours of the apartments at Harbor Place in downtown Haverhill.

Among those on hand were Ronald Trombley and Sally O’Rorke, representing the developer of the 80-unit complex. Elected officials included Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini and City Council Vice President Melinda E. Barrett. The event was organized by the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.

Harbor Place Residences opened in December, offering a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments. Of these, 56 apartments are discounted and 24 rent at market rates.

Others interested in a tour or leasing an apartment may call Harbor Place’s leasing office at 978-478-6310.

  1. This is a perfect example of white trash in business & pant suits. Total graft, all the while the citizens and children of Haverhill are left to eat cake. What a joke.

  2. “Ronald Trombley and Sally O’Rorke, representing the developers of Harbor Place Residences” –

You mean to tell us not a single member of The Fish Family couldn’t come and thank everyone for the $70 million-dollar taxpayer gift Brian Dempsey gave their family? For a piece of property that no individual, developer, or private equity group would touch for over four decades? I wonder if this is one of the most egregious examples of crony capitalism to ever occur in The City of Haverhill? Even worse, because two-thirds of the occupants that will reside there will now further stress the schools and services of this city, which are already stretched thin. Oh well, there’s already 30 kids to the classroom, what’s a few more?

What a vision Mayor Jimmy has, he brings new meaning to “give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses” (even the illegal invaders). Then he wonders why Haverhill is the way it is, and why the Weston’s, Newton’s, and Dover’s are the way they are. Mayor Jimmy, I though Democrats like yourself believed in “fair share”? Or maybe Mayor Jimmy doesn’t wonder, maybe he wants Haverhill to be permanently poor, always struggling, always reliant on whatever crumbs (state aid) Beacon Hill will send the city to survive.

I guess Mayor Jimmy could, knowing Brian will be where he is, Brian can send monies to Haverhill all the time. Brian of course is a recent recipient of his own $18 million-dollar pay raise him and his cronies voted for themselves. You know, the same raises the Residents of Haverhill have been receiving all these years. Oh, and before folks think they can repeal those raises by a ballot measure, oh no. Brian and his friends made sure that cannot happen, very slick actually, tying those raises to The Judiciary.

Just yet another example, in a long line of examples, of pols locally and statewide, in this one-way, gerrymandered state telling you to : “Eat Cake!”

  3. I love the picture. Sally is having the time of her life!! Who can blame her? What did she personally make on this project….$100,000 or was it $150,000? Anyone remember ?
